San Lorenzo vs Huracan
San Lorenzo are running out of chances to fight for a Copa Sudamericana ticket. Last Saturday, the team showed a worrying version and suffered a deserved 2-0 away defeat at Lanus. That result means El Ciclon are now on six league games without a win (four draws and two losses since beating Racing Club 2-1 away in round 15. The team remain on 27 points in the Liga Profesional, which is a decent campaign considering the club’s context.
Huracan continue to improve game after game. Last time out, the team reversed the score to claim a highly celebrated 3-1 home success over Banfield. Therefore, Diego Dabove’s men extended their unbeaten streak to ten matches in league action, winning five and drawing five. Following this remarkable run, El Globo are now on 37 points in the Liga Profesional, trailing leaders Atletico Tucuman by four and almost securing their spot in the Copa Sudamericana (at least) in 2023. On away turf, Huracan also have been without defeat in the last ten, with three victories and seven stalemates since losing at Racing Club in the league opener. Â
Really big derby for both, the hosts usually dominate this and Huracan has won at San Lorenzo’s stadium only once in 30 years. Huracan is going through a much better season, but derbies are completely different games and these odds are too good to pass.
