Rosario Central vs Instituto
Rosario Central had a rough night last Monday: they showed a terrible performance and succumbed to a deserved 2-0 away defeat at relegation candidates Banfield. That result ended their three-match unbeaten streak of two victories and one draw in the Liga Profesional. However, El Canalla continue producing a good campaign, accumulating 30 points to stay occupying one of the Copa Sudamericana spots. At home, Central hold an impressive run without defeat: they haven’t lost any of the last 15, winning eight and drawing seven.
Instituto showed improvements last Monday, but it wasn’t enough to return to winning ways. The scoreless home draw in an even match against Estudiantes means La Gloria claimed a single victory across their last seven league matches, along with two draws and four defeats. Following that streak, Lucas Bovaglio’s men accumulated 21 points so far, which places them in the 24th spot of the point-average table.
Rosario Central has scored at least once in all of their 9 home games this season and today they’ll have striker Alejo Veliz back after he was eliminated with the Argentina U20 national team from the world cup, so I can definitely imagine at least a couple of goals here.
