River vs Racing
Thanks to goals from Juan Fernando Quintero and Robert Rojas, River Plate managed an important 2-0 away success at Newell’s Old Boys last Sunday. Therefore, the defending champions are now on six points in the Copa Liga Profesional and they entered the qualifying zone in group A. At home, El Millonario lost only one of their last 13 league matches, having claimed ten triumphs and two draws in that time.
Racing Club played their best game of the season last Tuesday, when they managed to beat Argentinos Juniors (who were group A leaders beforehand). As a result, La Academia made it five points in three rounds (one behind their last opponents who occupy the last qualifying spot) and four league games without defeat (two victories and two draws). Nevertheless, Fernando Gago’s men grabbed a single point across their last three away matches (since beating Atletico Tucuman 2-0 in November.
If River is playing at home I always expect goals, but Racing has also scored lately with Edwin Cardona as an important piece of their attack, so I’m going with the OVER here.
