Estudiantes vs Arsenal
Estudiantes remain perfect in the Copa Liga Profesional. Last time out, the team managed a valuable 2-1 home success over Lanus to make it nine points from nine available and stay at the top of the group B table. In fact, Ricardo Zielinski’s men won six and drew three of their last ten league matches, only losing to Aldosivi at home in that spell. At their own stadium, El Pincha registered seven victories, five draws and one loss across their last 13 domestic games. On Wednesday 23, Estudiantes lost 1-0 away at Audax Italiano from Chile in the first leg of the Copa Libertadores’ second qualifying round. Jorge Morel returns from suspension and the full squad are available for Sunday, but coach Ricardo Zielinski will rotate his players.
Sarandi Arsenal claimed their first success under coach Leonardo Madelon last weekend, when beating Huracan 2-1 at home thanks to goals from Sebastian Lomonaco and Alexander Diaz. The team put an end to a six-game winless streak of three draws and three defeats, made it four points in the Copa Liga Profesional and opened a 11-point healthy gap over the relegation zone in the respective table. On a sorry note, Arsenal are on 14 away matches without a win in domestic action, having drawn three and lost 11 since beating Defensa y Justicia 1-0 in April.
Estudiantes will rotate some of their starters because they play midweek in Copa Libertadores, but they are still a solid team that can score anytime especially at home, so I’m expect goals here.
