Racing vs Estudiantes
Racing Club are getting worse week after week. Last Monday, the side were dominated from beginning to end and succumbed to a 2-0 away defeat to Argentinos Juniors, which extended their winless streak to six league matches (four draws and two losses). As a result, La Academia remain on 18 points and their ticket to one of the continental competitions in 2022 is now at risk. At home, Racing managed only two points across their last three games since beating Newell’s Old Boys in August.
Estudiantes had to settle for a disappointing 1-1 home draw against newly-promoted side Platense in round 13. As a result, the team remain out of the Copa Libertadores’ spots in the 2021 aggregate table even though they haven’t lost any of the last four league games (two victories and two draws). Speaking of the Liga Profesional’s table, El Pincha accumulated 24 points, trailing leaders Talleres by five.
Racing is worse and worse every week, Estudiantes is not in their best moment but they can’t lose here if they want to fight for the championship and they should be able to get something out of this game.
