Patronato vs Independiente
Patronato showed improvements in their league debut, but it wasn’t enough to earn points on their visit to Talleres. The 1-0 away defeat means the team lost ten of their last 14 top-flight matches (along with a single victory and three draws). Furthermore, El Patron are on six home games without a win, taking only three points since March, when beating Talleres 3-2.
Coach Julio Cesar Falcioni’s second spell at Independiente wasn’t the way he would have liked. The team lost 1-0 at home to Lanus producing a terrible performance and that’s worrying if we consider they should make a decent campaign this year to avoid being involved in a relegation fight next season. El Rojo won two and lost four of their last six league matches, but those victories were claimed in their last two games on the road (at Argentinos Juniors and River Plate).
Patronato has conceded goals in 10 of their last 12 games, Independiente will be desperate for a good result after the terrible start last week, so I expect to see goals here and an open game.
