Patronato – Defensa y Justicia

Patronato succumbed to a heartbreaking defeat last Friday, when they lost 3-2 away at Rosario Central after conceding in the 93rd minute. It was their tenth consecutive league game without a win (four draws and six defeats). As a result, Ivan Delfino’s men remain on 15 points in the Liga Profesional and continue occupying the penultimate spot of the relegation table (only above Aldosivi). At home, El Patron grabbed only two points from the last 12 available (since beating CA Central Cordoba 1-0 in August).

Defensa y Justicia are now on three league successes in a row after beating Estudiantes 2-1 at home last Friday, when Miguel Merentiel and Walter Bou found the back of the net. Sebastian Beccacece’s men are improving their campaign, having accumulated 24 points in 16 matches. However, that’s not yet enough to fight for one of the continental tickets as the team had a poor first semester of the year.

Defensa are in their best form in months and I think they should be able to beat this poor Patronato.
