Newell’s – Patronato
Newell’s Old Boys’ five-match unbeaten streak of four victories and one draw in league action came to an end last Saturday, when the team ended up losing 1-0 away at Union Santa Fe in an even game. As a result, La Lepra have been displaced from the playoff spots in group A as they remain on 16 points, which is still a good campaign for them. At home, Javier Sanguinetti’s men managed nine points from 12 on offer so far, having won three and lost one this season.
Patronato were unlucky to suffer a 1-0 home defeat to Banfield last Sunday, when they wasted several goalscoring opportunities. As a result, the team remain on seven points in the Copa Liga Profesional and continue occupying the bottom spot of the relegation table, having registered two victories and two losses under recently-appointed coach Facundo Sava. On the road, El Patron won one and lost three this term.
Even though Patronato looks improved since the coach change, I still rate Newell’s as a better team, especially at home and at this odds I have to bet on them.
