Lanus vs Huracan

Lanus succumbed to their second consecutive defeat in league action last Sunday, when they were beaten by Union Santa Fe 3-0 away following a terrible performance. Therefore, El Granate remain on five points in six Liga Profesional matches, winning one, drawing two and losing three so far. This poor campaign places them far away from the continental spots in the aggregate table. On a positive note, Lanus are on four league games unbeaten at home, having won three and drawn one.

Huracan continue to improve game after game. Last Sunday, the team secured a massive 3-2 home success over River Plate thanks to goals from Jonathan Galvan and Franco Cristaldo (2). Therefore, they made it five league games unbeaten (three victories and two draws) to accumulate 11 points in the Liga Profesional table and climb into tenth spot of the 2022 aggregate rankings (occupying one of the Copa Sudamericana berths). On away turf, El Globo registered one victory, one draw and one defeat so far.

After another disappointing performance Lanus couldn’t beat Independiente del Valle, they were eliminated of Copa Sudamericana and their coach resigned. On the other hand Huracan comes from a big win vs River and their morale should be at their best.
