Lanus vs Defensa y Justicia
Lanus grabbed a valuable point in their first game in this competition last Monday, when they earned a scoreless away draw at Rosario Central in an uneventful game. As a result, Jorge Almiron’s men are now on six league matches unbeaten, winning two and drawing four in the context of an irregular year, having managed only 16 points in 15 matches this season. On a positive note, El Granate won their last two league games at home over Rosario Central and Independiente.
Defensa y Justicia showed a decent performance in their league debut last Sunday, when they ended up drawing 0-0 against River Plate at home. The team are now sixth-placed in the 2022 aggregate table after winning two, drawing two and losing one of their last five matches in league action.
Lanus without their top two strikers, Defensa lost their top scorer in the offseason, both drew 0-0 in the first round and I can imagine another tight game here.
