Independiente vs Boca
Independiente’s four-game winning run in league action came to an end last weekend, when the team succumbed to a 1-0 away defeat at Velez Sarsfield after conceding with just seven minutes to go. However, El Rojo remain on 12 points, which allows them to occupy one of the playoff spots in group B. At home, they won their last two league games over Gimnasia LP and Sarmiento after losing to Lanus in the season opener.
Boca Juniors played a poor game last Sunday, when the team were dominated by Talleres and succumbed to a 2-1 home loss after conceding in the 94th minute of the game. It was their first league defeat this season (in fact, it stopped a 13-match unbeaten run of five wins and eight draws in the top flight) and prevented them from climbing into the playoff zone in group B: El Xeneize are on nine points, one behind fourth-placed Union Santa Fe.
Boca has been a disaster lately considering the huge squad full of talent they have, and Independiente should be able to get something from this derby at home.
