Argentine Primera Division: Godoy Cruz vs Tigre odds for April 09, 2023

Godoy Cruz vs Tigre

Godoy Cruz are finding trouble to overcome their irregularity. Last time out, the team showed a poor performance and succumbed to a deserved 3-0 away defeat at Argentinos Juniors. That result represented El Tomba’s fifth loss across their last seven league games, along with two victories. Even though they are on 12 points (which is not a bad campaign after nine rounds), coach Diego Flores’ job is already in danger. On a positive note, Godoy Cruz won three and lost one at home this term.

Striker Mateo Retegui found the back of the net in the 99th minute and gave Tigre a much-needed 2-1 home victory over Lanus in a hard-fought match last weekend. Thanks to that win, El Matador put an end to a three-match losing streak in league action and took a breather on their fight to escape from the worst spots of the league table: they are now on 11 points, five above bottom-placed Colon. On a sorry note, Diego Martinez’s men are on two consecutive domestic defeats on the road, losing to CA Central Cordoba and Sarandi Arsenal.

Tigre comes from a painful midweek defeat at home in Copa Sudamericana against Sao Paulo, a rematch of the 2012 they were really hoping to win. They’ve been terrible lately, they have to be tired and will probably rest some regulars, so I’ll trust Godoy Cruz who are not very reliable but have been strong at home.
