Godoy Cruz vs Sarmiento
Godoy Cruz made it two consecutive successes under recently-appointed boss Diego Flores last Monday, when the side played an excellent second half to thrash Aldosivi 4-1 away. The team made it 16 points in 11 matches and also climbed from 26th to 21st place in the relegation table as a result of that positive streak. At home, El Tomba lost only one of their last four matches, along with two victories and one draw.
Sarmiento remain winless in their last four league matches following their scoreless home draw against Huracan in an uneventful game last Monday: the team drew three and lost one since beating Atletico Tucuman 3-0 in round seven. Mario Sciacqua’s men earned 12 points in the Liga Profesional so far, which means they are now level with their last opponents and Platense in the relegation table, only above Aldosivi. Sarmiento are yet to win on away turf since their return to the top flight: they drew six and lost six.
Godoy Cruz has been a huge surprise lately, scoring 4 goals in each of their last two games since the coach changed, and with this excellent form they should be able to beat this Sarmiento that is awful when playing away.
