Godoy Cruz vs Patronato
Godoy Cruz continue finding trouble to secure victories in the league. Last Thursday, the team had to settle for a scoreless home draw against Argentinos Juniors in a boring game. That result means El Tomba extended their winless streak to eight league matches (four stalemates and four defeats). Having accumulated 35 points in 25 rounds, the side are already safe from relegation threats and also out of the fight for the continental tickets.
Patronato left the top flight in a more than worthy way. Last Thursday, the team secured a much-needed 1-0 away success at Lanus thanks to a penalty netted by Jonas Acevedo in the second half. As a result, Facundo Sava’s men put an end to their two-game losing streak in league action and made it 34 points in the Liga Profesional. Despite producing a remarkable campaign, the team finally got relegated on Friday following Sarandi Arsenal’s home victory over CA Central Cordoba.
Although Patronato is in better form, they were just relegated a couple of days ago so I can’t trust them, but I expect to see goals here between these two good attacking teams.
