Estudiantes vs Lanus
Estudiantes’ interim boss Pablo Quatrocchi had a rough night in his debut after Ricardo Zielinski’s departure. Last Wednesday, the team showed a terrible version and were thrashed by River Plate 5-0 away. That result extended El Pincha’s unbeaten streak to five league matches, having drawn one and lost four of those. The side remain on 27 points after 23 rounds, a poor campaign that keeps them out of the Copa Libertadores’ zone in the aggregate table (sitting six points behind the last qualifying berth).
Lanus returned to their usual terrible form last Thursday and were thrashed by Argentinos Juniors, losing 4-0 at home. That result put an end to their three-game winning streak in league action. Therefore, El Granate remain on 20 points in 23 rounds in the Liga Profesional, which really threatens them about relegation in the next season’s point-average table. Â
Both coming from big defeats, but Estudiantes has a reason to bounce back as they want to get a place in Copa Libertadores plus they are at home, so I think they should win here.
