Estudiantes vs Central Cordoba
Estudiantes succumbed to their third consecutive defeat in league action last Monday, when they lost 2-1 away at Sarandi Arsenal even though they had the ball for most of the time. As a result, El Pincha remain on seven points in six games in the Liga Profesional and dropped down to the sixth place of the aggregate table, qualifying for the 2023 Copa Sudamericana at the moment. At home, El Pincha grabbed four points from nine on offer in this competition, having won one, drawn one and lost one so far.
CA Central Cordoba are facing a tough reality at the moment. Last time out, the side succumbed to a 2-1 home loss to Argentinos Juniors. That result represented their third defeat across the last four league games (along with one win). El Ferroviario remain on seven points in the Liga Profesional and only one point above the first relegation spot in the respective table, shared by Aldosivi and Godoy Cruz. Four of those points were grabbed on away turf as Central registered one victory, one draw and one defeat so far. Following this negative campaign, coach Sergio Rondina left the club.
Estudiantes finally stood up and won an important game, a 3-0 in Copa Libertadores to advance to the Quarterfinals with one of their best performances lately. Even if they might rest a few starters here, they should be able to beat this struggling and poor Central Cordoba.
