Defensa y Justicia vs Velez
Defensa y Justicia remain winless in the Liga Profesional following their 2-1 away defeat at Godoy Cruz last Monday. The team are producing a poor campaign in the Liga Profesional, accumulating only three points in four games. In fact, El Halcon are on five league matches without a win (three draws and two defeats), but they remain occupying one of the Copa Sudamericana spots in the aggregate table despite that negative streak. Defensa are on five domestic matches unbeaten at their own stadium, but they drew four of those (only beating Patronato in the process).
Velez Sarsfield played their best match under coach Alexander Medina and managed to beat Rosario Central 2-0 at home. El Fortin secured their first victory in the Liga Profesional to make it four points in as many games, having drawn one and lost two previously. On away turf, the team collected only one point from six on offer in this competition, drawing at Patronato and losing to Racing Club. Â
Defensa will have to recover and win again at some point, and they are worth a bet here against a Velez that has a midweek Copa Libertadores game ahead and are quite poor when playing away.
