Barracas Central vs Tigre
Barracas Central showed improvements last Monday and returned to winning ways by beating Argentinos Juniors 1-0 away, with Manuel Duarte scoring in the first half. El Guapo stopped a three-match winless streak of one draw and two defeats to make it 20 points in the Liga Profesional (which still places them bottom in the Liga Profesional table, trailing Banfield by three). On a sorry note, Barracas are on 11 home matches without a win, drawing five and losing six.
Tigre fans will have felt unlucky last time out, wasting several goalscoring chances, and they had to settle for a scoreless home stalemate against Instituto. As a result, El Matador claimed a single victory across their last six league games, along with three draws and two defeats in that time. Sebastian Dominguez’s men made it 30 points in the Liga Profesional, which places them two points above the bottom spot in the aggregate table. On a positive note, Tigre lost only one of their last four on away turf, winning two and drawing one in that time. Playmaker Gonzalo Maroni succumbed to a muscle problem and will miss out.
Barracas has been one of the worst teams in the league this season but they’ve shown some improvements lately, specially at home where their only defeat in the last 4 games was against Racing, one of the best teams in the league. Tigre is nothing special, they won’t have playmaker Maroni, so I’m going to trust the hosts to at least avoid a defeat.
