Argentine Primera Division: Banfield vs Barracas Central Odds for April 29, 2023

Banfield vs Barracas Central

Banfield wasted a big chance last Sunday, when they had to settle for a 1-1 away draw at Instituto after conceding the equaliser in the eight minute of stoppage time. As a result, El Taladro count a single victory across their last five matches in Liga Profesional action, along with two draws and two defeats in that time. That streak means Javier Sanguinetti’s men accumulate 14 points in 13 rounds so far, leading bottom-placed Union Santa Fe by six (and also holding a six-point gap over the first relegation spot in the point-average table). At home, Banfield grabbed nine points in seven matches this term, winning two, drawing three and losing two.

Barracas Central are going through a difficult moment in the league. Last Monday, the team showed a worrying performance and suffered a clear 2-0 home defeat to Defensa y Justicia. That result means El Guapo claimed a single victory across their last eight league games, drawing three and losing four. Following that run, they remain on 13 points in as many matches in this competition, just five above bottom-placed Union Santa Fe, and dropped down to 21st place in the point-average table. To make matters worse, Barracas are on five away games without a win, drawing two and losing three since beating Sarmiento 5-3 in round two.

Banfield are not exactly reliable but this Barracas is getting worse and worse. They are even losing at home lately where they used to be strong, so I can’t imagine them not losing here.
