Atletico Tucuman – Deportivo Riestra

Atlético Tucuman performed well below expectations last Thursday, delivering a poor display and suffering a deserved 2-0 defeat against CA Central Cordoba away from home. As a result, Facundo Sava’s team saw their streak of two consecutive league wins come to an end and remain with three points in the Torneo Apertura. However, El Decano have been strong at home lately, staying unbeaten in their last five matches, with four wins and one draw. Marcelo Estigarribia was sold to Union Santa Fe, while Carlos Auzqui arrived from O’Higgins, Chile.

Deportivo Riestra couldn’t maintain the high level shown in their debut and had to settle for a 0-0 draw at home against newly promoted San Martín SJ. El Malevo has collected four points from the first six available in Group B. This was their ninth draw in their last 12 league matches, alongside two wins and one loss. Riestra defeated Lanús 2-0 in their last away match, ending a 15-game winless streak on the road (with seven draws and eight losses). Head coach Cristian Fabbiani has all his usual starters available to visit Atletico Tucuman on Tuesday.

Riestra is usually a more defensive and poor team when playing away, Atletico has been poor so far this season and losing striker Estigarribia won’t make them any better so I’ll go with the UNDER here on what should be a tight game.
