Arsenal vs Racing Club
Sarandi Arsenal couldn’t handle the fact of seeing two red cards last Sunday and succumbed to a 2-1 away defeat at Rosario Central last Sunday after taking the first lead. Carlos Ruiz’s men remain winless in the Liga Profesional, having grabbed a single point from nine on offer, which keeps them bottom in the point-average table, trailing Sarmiento and CA Central Cordoba (who are safe) by 12 points. Arsenal claimed a single success across their last four at home, drawing one and losing two. Centre back Joaquin Pombo and left back Adrian Sporle are suspended for Friday after being sent off at Rosario Central.
Racing Club continue struggling to take advantage of their big potential. Last Sunday, La Academia recorded a 2-2 home draw against Tigre in an entertaining game, which means they remain winless in the Liga Profesional, accumulating two points from nine available after the first three rounds. In fact, Fernando Gago’s men haven’t claimed any victories in their last four in league action (two draws and two defeats). Racing lost at Argentinos Juniors 1-0 in their last away game to put an end to a four-match league unbeaten streak of three wins and one draw on the road.
It’s a big surprise that Racing has no wins after 3 rounds considering they are one of the candidates to win the championship, so I expect them to go for the 3 points against this very poor Arsenal, but with the defensive mistakes they’ve shown recently I can see them conceding as well.
