Argentinos Jrs vs Platense

Despite having shown a poor version, Argentinos Juniors saved a point on their visit to Patronato last Tuesday, when drawing 0-0 with Federico Lanzillotta saving a penalty in stoppage time. After three league games unbeaten (two victories and one stalemate), El Bicho made it 27 points in the Liga Profesional (five behind leaders Atletico Tucuman) and continue fighting to qualify for the 2023 Copa Libertadores, trailing the last qualifying berth in the aggregate table, occupied by Gimnasia LP, by one point.

Platense had to settle for a scoreless home draw against Talleres in an intense match last Monday. El Calamar are producing a good campaign in the Liga Profesional, having managed 22 points, which places them out of the relegation spots in the respective table at the moment. However, they are struggling lately, having won only one of their last six matches in this competition, along with two stalemates and three defeats.

Platense has been too irregular lately and they’ve been struggling to get results, but this is the derby, arguably the most important game of the tournament for them and I can see them fighting not to lose here.
