Argentinos Jrs – Boca
Argentinos Juniors are experiencing great form at the moment. Last Saturday, the side secured a big 3-1 away success over Barracas Central at All Boys. Thanks to that victory, El Bicho made it four league games unbeaten (three wins in a row and one draw) and accumulated 16 points in this competition, sharing the top of the league table with Godoy Cruz, Newell’s Old Boys and Atletico Tucuman. As a result of their remarkable season, the team continue occupying one of the Copa Libertadores spots in the aggregate table. At home, Argentinos haven’t lost any of their last eight matches, winning six and drawing two since March 14th, when Defensa y Justicia beat them 1-0. Captain Miguel Torren is ready to return from suspension.
Thanks to a penalty netted by Marcos Rojo in the second half, Boca Juniors secured an important 1-0 home success over Talleres to take a breather in the context of their crisis. The defending champions put an end to a three-match losing streak in league action to make it 12 points in the Liga Profesional: they still have work to do in order to approach the league leaders. On away turf, El Xeneize managed three points in as many matches in this competition, having beaten Barracas Central and lost to CA Central Cordoba and San Lorenzo.
Argentinos is full of confidence and will have back defender and captain Miguel Torren, Boca are the opposite, they needed two penalties to beat Talleres and are still under an interim coach so I can’t see them winning here.
