Defensa y Justicia vs Huracan
Defensa y Justicia closed their irregular campaign in the Copa Liga Profesional with a 4-4 home draw against Aldosivi at Sarandi Arsenal while they were prioritising the Copa Sudamericana. In fact, they went on to beat Coquimbo Unido in the semi-finals and Lanus 3-0 in the final to lift that title on January 23rd. Speaking of domestic action, Defensa lost only one of their last six games, winning three and drawing two. As hosts, they took seven points from the last nine available in the top flight.
In the context of a worthy campaign, Huracan couldn’t fight for a ticket in a Copa Liga Profesional’s final as a result of their four-game losing run, ending with a 1-0 away defeat at Sarandi Arsenal on January 10th. On away turf, El Globo took a single point in their last three games. Huracan need to improve their points average to avoid relegation threats in 2022, but there are no new signings at Israel Damonte’s disposal. and Saul Salcedo left the club to join Paraguayan side Olimpia.
Defensa y Justicia made history just a few weeks ago winning Copa Sudamericana, and despite losing coach Hernan Crespo they should have enough to beat this poor Huracan who lost their best defender during the offseason.
