Barracas Central vs Gimnasia
Barracas Central couldn’t do anything to stop Independiente’s offensive power and succumbed to a clear 3-0 away defeat in round nine. Following that loss, El Guapo claimed a single victory across their last four league games (drawing one and losing two), which means they remain on ten points in group A. However, that irregular campaign allows them to stay seven points above the relegation spot in the aggregate table. Barracas are on 11 matches unbeaten as the hosting side, winning six and drawing five (they will face Gimnasia LP at Huracan as the renovation works at their own stadiums will last until next year).
Gimnasia LP keep on fighting in their struggle to avoid relegation. Last Thursday, the team secured a highly-celebrated 3-2 home success over Argentinos Juniors. As a result, El Lobo are on four league matches unbeaten, winning two and drawing two, which allowed them to make it 11 points in the Copa Liga Profesional and to leave the drop spot in the aggregate table (now leading Huracan by three points). On a sorry note, Gimnasia are without a win in their last ten away matches, with five stalemates and five defeats since beating Sarandi Arsenal 1-0 in May.
I’ll go for the OVER here as Gimnasia is in desperate mode being so close to the relegation spot, a draw could be useless for them, and one goal will definitely open things up.
