Rosario Central – Deportivo Riestra
Rosario Central were outplayed in their last league match but stood firm defensively and salvaged a valuable 0-0 draw away to Atlético Tucumán. With that result, El Canalla reached six points in the Torneo Clausura and remain top of the overall aggregate table, having lost only one of their last 14 league games (seven wins and six draws). On the downside, Ariel Holan’s men are winless in their last three home matches (two draws and one defeat). All regular starters are available for Saturday’s game.
Deportivo Riestra came close to securing a big result last Monday but conceded a penalty in the 93rd minute and ended up losing 1-0 away to Defensa y Justicia. As a result, El Malevo remain on six points in the Torneo Clausura (two wins and two losses) and missed the chance to climb into the spots for next year’s Copa Sudamericana. The team also extended their winless run on the road to five matches, with one draw and four defeats.
Rosario Central comes from a poor game but they have a good team lead by Angel Di Maria and I’m going to give them my vote of confidence here against a Deportivo Riestra that is a completely different team when playing away.
