Argentine Primera Division: Huracan – Argentinos Jrs Odds for August 16, 2025

Huracan – Argentinos Jrs

After a poor start to the semester, Huracán are returning to their best form. Last weekend, they defeated Tigre 1-0 away thanks to a second-half goal from Leonardo Gil, despite fielding a mostly rotated side. It was their second straight league win and lifted them into the 2026 Copa Sudamericana qualification zone, bringing their tally to six points in the Torneo Clausura. Moreover, El Globo have lost just two of their last 18 home matches in this competition, with ten wins and six draws in that span. On Tuesday, August 12, Huracán lost 1-0 away at Once Caldas in the first leg of the Copa Sudamericana round of 16.

Argentinos Juniors finally claimed their first win of the semester last Sunday, defeating Unión Santa Fe 1-0 at home thanks to a first-half goal from Alan Lescano. El Bicho reached five points in the Torneo Clausura from one win, two draws, and one loss, climbing back into one of the Copa Libertadores qualification spots in the aggregate table. Away from home, Nicolás Diez’s side are winless in five matches, with four draws and one defeat.

Huracan will use a lineup full of reserves here as they need to win at home next week to advance in Copa Sudamericana after the midweek defeat at Colombia, and so it looks like a good opportunity for Argentinos to claim their 2nd win in a row.
