Independiente continue to go from strength to strength under Julio Vaccari. On Wednesday, El Rojo secured a thrilling 3-2 win over Talleres in Córdoba, with Luciano Cabral scoring in stoppage time. With six points from two games in the first two rounds, they are one of the leaders of Group B. However, their upward trajectory extends beyond this season: they are now unbeaten in five league games (four wins and one draw). At home, their record is even more impressive, with a 14-game unbeaten run (eight wins and six draws).

Gimnasia LP must react quickly to avoid falling into a crisis. On Wednesday, the team had a very poor performance and lost 2-0 at home to San Lorenzo.
