Banfield vs Talleres
Banfield new boss Gustavo Munua has a lot of work to do at the club. He had a rough debut last Saturday, when his team drew 1-1 at home against relegation candidates Atletico Tucuman despite taking the first lead. El Taladro continue producing an irregular campaign in the Liga Profesional, accumulating five points in six rounds (one in hand as they had to postpone an away game at Boca Juniors in midweek) as a product of a single victory, two stalemates and three defeats, a poor campaign that places them in 21st spot of the aggregate table. Banfield collected five points in three home matches in this tournament, winning one and drawing two. Striker Bruno Sepulveda is expected to be available after recovering from a back problem.
Talleres are still finding trouble to show their best version after the Copa America break. Last Wednesday, La T were just able to secure a 1-1 home stalemate against Defensa y Justicia in an entertaining match. However, the team continue producing a good campaign in the Liga Profesional, accumulating 14 points and trailing leaders Huracan by one. In fact, Walter Ribonetto’s men are leaders in the aggregate table after losing only one of their last 15 league games (seven victories and seven draws).
Disappointing performances by Talleres since the Copa America break, a big defeat vs Velez and a poor performance against Defensa that finished in a 1-1 draw and the reason is that they are missing some key players in attack: Ramon Sosa and Nahuel Bustos are leaving the team and playmaker Ruben Botta is injured so even though Banfield is not the most reliable team I’m going to trust them here to at least avoid a defeat at home.
