Gimnasia vs Barracas Central
Gimnasia LP are going through a difficult moment. Last Wednesday, the team were dominated from beginning to end and succumbed to a deserved 2-0 away defeat to Argentinos Juniors. Following that result, El Lobo are on four league games without a win, drawing one and losing three in that time. Leonardo Madelon’s men remain on ten points after nine matches, running out of chances to advance to the playoffs. Gimnasia secured just four points in as many home matches this term as a product of one victory, one draw and two losses.
Barracas Central showed another interesting performance last Tuesday and registered a 2-2 home stalemate against Independiente in an entertaining match at Huracan. El Guapo are playing clearly above expectations this term, accumulating 16 points after seven league matches without defeat (four victories and three draws), which is not enough to occupy one of the playoff spots in group A at the moment. Barracas are unbeaten in the last six on away turf, having won two and drawn four.
Gimnasia are on a bad streak but they will have some starters back from injury like Pintado, Morales and Cabral in defense, and Colman in attack. I still can’t trust them but considering they’ve conceded goals in 6 of their last 7 games and also scored in 7 out of 9 games this season, and that Barracas has scored 7 goals in the last 4 games, I’ll go with the OVER.
