Instituto vs Independiente
Instituto continue to produce one of their best campaigns in the club’s history. Last Thursday, the team secured a massive 2-0 away success at newcomers Independiente Rivadavia thanks to goals from Ignacio Russo and Nicolas Barrientos. Therefore, La Gloria are now one of the group A leaders (alongside River Plate and Argentinos Juniors) on 11 points. In fact, Diego Dabove’s men are unbeaten in their last eight in league action, winning four and drawing four. Instituto took four points from six on offer as the hosting side this season, beating Atletico Tucuman and drawing to Talleres. All regulars are available to host Independiente on Sunday.
Independiente had to fight a lot last Tuesday but they still were able to secure a hard-fought 1-0 home success over Rosario Central thanks to a goal from Federico Mancuello in the first half. El Rojo returned to one of the playoff spots in group A after making it three victories, one draw and one loss in the Copa Liga Profesional to accumulate ten points. On away turf, Carlos Tevez’s men are unbeaten this term, having won two and drawn one so far.
Instituto are looking great lately, scoring 9 goals in the last 4 games so I have to trust them here against this Independiente who has been solid but also struggles to score as shown by the only 3 they have so far this season.
