Huracan vs Velez
Huracan ignited a flame of hope last weekend, when they showed a big display of effort to beat Platense 1-0 away thanks to a penalty netted by Matias Coccaro in the 70th minute. El Globo managed to break a terrible 11-match winless streak of three draws and eight defeats in the Liga Profesional. As a result, they made it 22 points, which keeps them occupying the relegation place via the aggregate table, but now trailing Colon by just three. At home, Huracan managed just two points from the last 15 available in this competition.
Velez Sarsfield showed a disappointing performance last Monday and were really lucky to avoid the defeat: the scoreless home draw against Union Santa Fe means the team are yet to lose in league action under new boss Sebastian Mendez: it’s been two victories and three stalemates. However, El Fortin continue producing a poor campaign: they made it just 27 points in 26 rounds in the Liga Profesional, only five more than Huracan (who are currently losing their top-flight status). In fact, Velez lost six of their last nine away matches, winning one and drawing two in that spell.
Must win game for Huracan at home against of their relegation rivals, but they’ve been so poor in defense lately that I can see them conceding, so I’ll go with the OVER on this very low totals line.
