Aldosivi vs Banfield

Aldosivi made it two defeats in a row (and three in their last four games) last weekend when they lost at River Plate 1-0. They weren’t able to take advantage of the fact that the hosts were focused on the Copa Libertadores and fielded an alternative XI. However, El Tiburon is on 15 points in the league table, which keeps them safe from relegation threats. At home, Aldosivi claimed three wins and suffered a single defeat (to Tigre 2-0 in round four).

Meanwhile, Banfield succumbed to their first home defeat last Sunday, when losing to Estudiantes 2-0. That result also stopped El Taladro’s four-game unbeaten run (one win, three draws). The team remain on 13 points and wasted a good opportunity to climb into a Copa Sudamericana place. To make matters worse, Banfield hasn’t claimed any away victories so far, managing only three points from 15 available.

Aldosivi is confident at home while Banfield has been struggling on away turf. I expect a home win.
