Rosario Central vs Platense
Rosario Central’s seven-match unbeaten run of three victories and four draws in the league came to an end last Sunday, when the team weren’t able to control Talleres’ offensive power and lost 3-1 away. In fact, Miguel Angel Russo’s men are now on three without a win, with two stalemates and one defeat in that spell. However, their campaign is still good, accumulating 23 points to stay into the Copa Sudamericana places. Furthermore, Central have been unbeaten in their last 13 home matches in domestic action, winning six and drawing seven since losing to Banfield 1-0 in August.
Platense are facing trouble in the league at the moment. In round 14, the team were dominated and registered a 2-1 home loss to Estudiantes. That result means El Calamar are winless in their last four league matches, drawing one and losing three. As a result, they dropped down to the relegation zone in the point-average table (one point behind Sarmiento, who are safe) despite having accumulated 17 points so far this season. Platense also lost their last two away matches in this competition (to Barracas Central and San Lorenzo, both 1-0).
Rosario Central should be able to win again after last weekend’s defeat. They’ve been quite solid at home and Platense is a weak team, specially when playing away so I was expecting lower odds on the home win.
