Instituto vs Banfield
Instituto put up a good fight on their visit to Defensa y Justicia last weekend, but they returned home empty-handed following an unlucky 1-0 away loss. It was their third defeat across the last four league games, along with a single win. However, La Gloria are performing decently on their return to the top flight, accumulating 16 points to stay safe from relegation threats after 12 rounds. In fact, Lucas Bovaglio’s men succumbed to a single defeat as the hosting side this season, along with two victories and three draws.
Banfield took a big breather on their fight to avoid relegation last Monday, when they beat CA Central Cordoba 1-0 at home thanks to a penalty netted by Juan Bisanz in the first half. As a result, El Taladro put an end to their three-match winless streak of one draw and two defeats in league action, accumulating 13 points in 12 matches in the Liga Profesional (five above the bottom of the table and also five over the first drop spots in the point-average rankings). Banfield managed four points in five away games this term, winning one, drawing one and losing three.
Banfield are just terrible despite last week’s win thanks to a penalty, Instituto has been irregular but they are strong at home and I expect them to bounce back from the latest bad results.
