Arsenal vs Godoy Cruz
Even though there are over 30 matches left, Sarandi Arsenal really need to improve if they want to avoid relegation. Last Friday, the team succumbed to a heavy 3-0 away defeat at Lanus, which means they lost three of the last five games in this competition (along with a single win and one draw). In fact, El Viaducto remain on eight points in the Liga Profesional, which keeps them bottom in the point-average table, trailing Platense, who are now safe, by 15 points at the moment. Arsenal won their last home match (2-0 over Tigre) after one draw and two losses in 2023.
Godoy Cruz continue going through irregular form. Last Sunday, the team had to settle for a 1-1 home draw against Tigre despite having taken the first half. El Tomba claimed a single victory across their last four matches in league action, drawing one and losing two in that spell. As a result, they accumulate 13 points in the Liga Profesional, occupying a spot in the low half of the league table. To make matters worse, Godoy Cruz are on four consecutive defeats on away turf, having lost to San Lorenzo, Rosario Central, River Plate and Argentinos Juniors without even scoring.
Every game is a must win for Arsenal who are deep down in the averages table and need to cut a 15 pts distance from the safe zone, so I expect another open game here as sooner than later they will have to take risks.
