Estudiantes vs Aldosivi

Estudiantes are on four points in as many league games following a 2-2 draw with Independiente at Quilmes two weeks ago despite holding a 2-0 lead at half-time. A few days later, El Pincha advanced to the Copa Argentina’s round-of-16 by beating fourth-tier side Lujan on penalties after a scoreless draw where they didn’t look as strong as expected considering the distance between both teams.

After two consecutive wins, Aldosivi suffered a surprising 2-0 home defeat to Tigre, which also stopped their four-game unbeaten streak at Jose Maria Minella Stadium. Gustavo Alvarez’s men remain on six points but that is enough for newcomers to stay away from relegation threats so far. El Tiburon has beaten Lanus 1-0 in their last away league match, but they had lost at Union Santa Fe 1-0 in the season opener.

Aldosivi seems to be adapted to the Superliga and they welcome back striker Cristian Chavez, one of their main attacking threats. With him, they should be able to put this irregular Estudiantes in danger and take something from this game.
