Banfield – Barracas Central
Thanks to a goal from Jesus Datolo in the 82nd minute, Banfield managed an important 1-0 away success at Tigre last Sunday. After losing in the opener, the team are now on three league games unbeaten (two victories and one draw) to accumulate seven points in the Liga Profesional, which places them into the Copa Sudamericana places in the aggregate table. At home, Banfield earned three points from six available in this competition, losing to Newell’s Old Boys and beating CA Central Cordoba.
Barracas Central are getting into the relegation fight again. Last Sunday, the team lost 3-1 to defending champions Boca Juniors, playing as hosts at All Boys. Alfredo Berti’s men remain winless in the Liga Profesional, drawing two and losing two. Having earned two points from 12 on offer, they dropped down to the 20th place in the relegation table.
Barracas’ defense has been one of the worst so far with 7 goals conceded in 4 games, and I expect this to continue as they face this Banfield with a decent attacking power.
