Godoy Cruz vs Defensa y Justicia
Godoy Cruz returned to losing ways last Thursday, when they were beaten by Rosario Central 1-0 away from home after a disappointing performance. As a result, the team accumulated only three points in as many matches in the Liga Profesional and remain occupying one of the relegation spots in the respective table, three points behind Aldosivi who are safe. In fact, El Tomba lost three of their last four league games, only beating Racing Club in that spell. On a positive note, Godoy Cruz are on six home matches unbeaten, winning the last two and drawing four.
Defensa y Justicia had to settle for a 1-1 home draw against Huracan in an intense match last Tuesday. Following that result, El Halcon accumulated three points in as many matches in the Liga Profesional, which is enough to continue occupying one of the Copa Sudamericana places at the moment. El Halcon are winless in their last four league games, drawing three and losing one in the process. Defensa won two and lost two of their last five league games on away turf, along with one draw.
Godoy Cruz is not exactly the most reliable team but I don’t like this Defensa y Justicia at all. They lost everything that made them a solid team and won’t have their best defender, Adonis Frias, due to injury, so I expect the hosts to win.
