Lanus vs Independiente
Lanus were lucky to earn a 1-1 away draw at Godoy Cruz last Sunday, with goalkeeper Fernando Monetti in superb form. The team continue producing a poor campaign in the Copa Liga Profesional, having won only one of their last ten matches in this competition (five stalemates and four defeats). As a result, El Granate accumulated only 11 points in 12 matches so far and are sharing the bottom of the group B table with Rosario Central and Sarandi Arsenal. On a positive note, they managed eight of those points at home, registering two victories, two draws and two losses so far.
Independiente have nothing to play for in the two remaining matches following their 3-0 away defeat at Rosario Central last Saturday, probably their worst game of the season. El Rojo are now on four league games without a win (drawing three and losing one) and have been performing quite irregularly so far, accumulating 13 points in 12 matches (an unacceptable campaign for one of the big five in the Argentine league). On away turf, Independiente won one, drew three and lost two in the Copa Liga Profesional.
Both come from midweek games and have nothing to play for here, so I expect a relaxed game with goals.
