Argentinos Jrs vs Newell’s
Argentinos Juniors took a valuable 1-0 away success in a hard-fought game at Patronato last Thursday, when young striker Thiago Nuss netted the winner in his debut at the club. El Bicho took their first three points of the season and also made it three victories in the last four league games (along with a single defeat).
After a poor campaign in 2021, Newell’s Old Boys showed great improvements last Thursday, when they beat Defensa y Justicia 1-0 at home in coach Javier Sanguinetti’s debut. Francisco Gonzalez’s goal allowed the team to take the first three points in 2022 and stop a three-game winless streak of two draws and one defeat. On a sorry note, La Lepra are on six away matches without a win in domestic action, having drawn two and lost four since beating Lanus 2-1 in September.
I can imagine a tight game here, I’m not convinced by Argentinos performance in the 1st round so I think Newell’s should get something here.
