Gimnasia vs Banfield
Through a penalty netted by Luis Rodriguez in the first half, Gimnasia LP managed a valuable 1-0 away victory at Boca Juniors last weekend. That win allowed them to make it five league games unbeaten (three victories and two draws) and accumulate 28 points in the Liga Profesional’s table. Therefore, El Lobo continue approaching the Copa Sudamericana berths in the 2021 aggregate rankings, trailing tenth-placed Union Santa Fe by one. The team suffered a single defeat as the home side in this competition, along with four successes and five draws.
Banfield new coach Diego Dabove had a happy debut as his team managed a much-needed 2-1 home success over Velez Sarsfield thanks to a goal from Jesus Datolo in stoppage time. Therefore, El Talafro stopped a five-match winless run of two draws and three defeats in league action and also climbed two positions in the relegation table (occupying 18th spot at the moment). The side still need to improve their campaign as they accumulated only 18 points in the Liga Profesional. In fact, Banfield are on eight away matches without a win, having drawn six and lost two since beating Union Santa Fe 1-0 in round three.
Gimnasia comes from a big win at Boca, they are solid at home, so I’m going with them not to lose here.
