Union vs Patronato
Union Santa Fe are struggling at the moment. Last Monday, the team showed a poor version again and suffered their third consecutive loss in the Liga Profesional (1-0 away at Gimnasia LP in an even game). Coach Juan Manuel Azconzabal left the club as his team managed 12 points in as many matches in this tournament. At home, they registered two successes, one draw and three defeats so far. Ezequiel Canete and Juan Carlos Portillo will miss after succumbing to different injuries at Gimnasia LP.
Patronato played one of their best games in the whole season last Sunday, but they succumbed to an unlucky 2-1 home defeat to Estudiantes. Following that result, they are now winless in six league matches (drawing three and losing three since beating CA Central Cordoba 1-0 at home in round six). Having secured 14 points in the Liga Profesional, they are now level with Platense and Sarmiento in the relegation table, only above Huracan and Aldosivi.
Patronato might not be the most reliable team but they definitely deserve more points than what they have, and I expect them to take something from the visit to Union that will have an interim coach.
