Central Cordoba – Banfield

CA Central Cordoba produced an irregular campaign in the Copa Liga Profesional with 17 points, but that was enough to occupy 19th spot in the relegation table. On a sorry note, Gustavo Coleoni’s men won only one of their last eight league games, drawing four and losing three, and took just five points from 18 available as hosts in the first league tournament of the season.

Banfield couldn’t reach the playoffs but registered a good campaign. With 20 points and a ticket to the Copa Sudamericana already secured, they will fight for a spot in the Copa Libertadores (now two points behind the last berth). El Taladro grabbed seven points from the last nine available in league action and suffered a single defeat across the last seven away games, winning three and drawing three.

Banfield is clearly not the same team they were last year when they reached and lost the final vs Boca. Last week they lost in Copa Argentina against a 2nd division club, and they looked very poor. Central Cordoba is not the most reliable team but at home they should be able to get at least a draw.
