Godoy Cruz – Rosario Central
Godoy Cruz were irregular last term, earning 15 points in 13 matches, which places them bottom in the relegation table along with Aldosivi. The team lost three of their last five in league action (one win and one draw) and also succumbed to three defeats across their last four home matches (only beating CA Central Cordoba in the process).
Rosario Central lost 4-1 at Platense in their last league game, which prevented them from qualifying for the league playoffs. The team collected 18 points in the last domestic tournament, winning one and losing two of their last three. On away turf, El Canalla claimed a single victory across the last seven, along with one stalemate and five losses. On a positive note, Cristian Gonzalez’s men secured seven points from nine in the Copa Sudamericana after league action to win group A.
Godoy Cruz was one of the worst teams in the last tournament and probably of the whole last season, and with 5 new players in the team I can’t imagine they will be better very fast. Rosario Central has looked more solid and with striker Milton Caraglio back from Mexico they should be stronger in attack.
