Arsenal (Argentina) vs Jorge Wilstermann (Bolivia)
Sarandi Arsenal took a single point in two rounds in the Copa Sudamericana following their scoreless stalemate against Ceara SC from Brazil at home last week. However, the team could cut the gap behind group C leaders to just one point in the event of winning here. Last Friday, a completely alternative XI succumbed to a 2-0 away defeat at group leaders Colon and Sergio Rondina’s men remain bottom in the Copa Liga Profesional’s group A on 11 points in 12 rounds. However, they are showing improvements: Arsenal won three, drew two and lost two of their last seven games. They also are unbeaten in the last four at home even though three of those ended in draws.
Jorge Wilstermann also earned just one point from six on offer in the Copa Sudamericana after last Thursday 0-0 home draw against Bolivar, but they have the chance of approaching the top of the table with a win in Argentina. On Sunday, El Aviador succumbed to a 3-1 away defeat at Atletico Palmaflor, which means they managed only three points in six rounds in Bolivian league action, sitting in 14th spot out of 16 teams. Overall, Wilstermann are on five winless games in all competitions, drawing one and losing four. On away turf, they lost the last three.
Arsenal has shown signs of improvement lately and they should take advantage of this Jorge Wilstermann with a new coach and some important missings.
