Colon vs Argentinos Jrs

Colon are clearly the best team in the league at the moment. Last weekend, they reversed the score to beat newly-promoted Platense 3-1 away with striker Wilson Morelo performing a remarkable return after several months on the sidelines. El Sabalero managed 19 points from 21 on offer this term to remain as group A leaders, seven points above CA Central Cordoba in second. At home, they won two games (over San Lorenzo and Aldosivi) and drew against Rosario Central this season. Key player Luis Rodriguez recovered from his muscle issues and is ready to return.

Argentinos Juniors made it three victories across their last four league games (along with a single defeat) by beating Sarandi Arsenal 3-2 at home thanks to a goal from Elias Gomez in the 87th minute, when the side were on a two-men disadvantage. Gabriel Milito’s men earned nine points in seven rounds this season to trail Racing Club, who occupy the last playoff spot in group A, by three. Argentinos managed three points in as many matches on away turf this term after beating River Plate and losing to Rosario Central and Racing Club. Argentinos Juniors forwards Gabriel Hauche and Gabriel Avalos were sent off against Sarandi Arsenal and are suspended for Sunday.

Even though Argentinos has been on a good run lately, they will have many missings and visiting Colon should be too much for them so I’m expecting a home win here.
