Arsenal vs River Plate
Sarandi Arsenal are yet to win in the Copa Liga Profesional following a heartbreaking 3-2 away defeat at Argentinos Juniors last Saturday, when the team conceded the winner just three minutes before the final whistle and playing against nine men. Sergio Rondina’s men collected a single point in seven rounds, which places them bottom in group A. At home, Arsenal drew against Platense and lost to Banfield and Estudiantes this term.
River Plate were ineffective up front last Sunday, when they had to settle for a scoreless home draw with Racing Club in spite of having played against ten men during over 30 minutes. El Millonario lost only one of their last six league matches, winning three and drawing two to make it 11 points, which is not enough to occupy one of the playoff places in group A. On a positive note, River managed seven points from the last nine on offer on away turf, winning at Platense and Godoy Cruz and drawing at Boca Juniors.
River failed to score lately against Racing and Argentinos Jrs but I can’t imagine a close game when they visit this Arsenal that has conceded 17 goals in 7 games so far this season.
