Worry on World Cup 2018: Neymar’s Real Condition

Brazil’s star player and the world’s costliest footballer sparked panic as the forward admitted he’s still “not 100%” ready for the World Cup tournament.

With two weeks away from the international tournament, Brazil had a sense of panic when Neymar needed treatment from the medics during their warm up at Tottenham Hotspur’s training ground.

While Egypt is currently on the edge because of Mohamed Salah’s injury, the five-time world champions are also sweating because of Neymar’s less than 100% recovery. The 26-year old is still hoping he could pull some strings and be there in Russia with the world’s top two footballers, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

When asked about his condition during an interview in Rio de Janeiro, Neymar said, “Physically I am well, my foot is fine. I am adapting in a few things. I still feel some discomfort, but it is not something that will trouble me.”

Asked how he is at the moment, the Paris Saint-Germain’s top-notch player honestly replied, “Not 100 percent yet. But that comes with time. It is normal that I have this fear of making complete movements. Let’s take it easy, there are still many days until the (World Cup) opener and I will be 100 percent then.”

Since his surgery, Neymar hasn’t played a single match, but he has high hopes to get in tip-top shape in a friendly game against Croatia on June 3rd. “I am ready to play, there is nothing that can stop me,” he said. “What I feel today is this fear because I am coming back now,” he stressed.

On the road to recovery, Brazil’s coaching staff are trying their best to reduce pressure on the star player’s performance. His dream of getting a title for his country still swings on his mind.

On Sunday, Brazil’s 20 men will fly to London to continue their training and preparations for FIFA World Cup.
