Turkey v Italy

The opening match of the European championship 2020 takes places tonight, yes correct, you read it right, Euro 2020 in 2021, it sees Italy host Turkey in Rome even though Turkey are officially the first team listed in the fixture. Many consider the Turks as outsiders for the championship but i would not be one of those people, they have a lot to like about them and are a side that have plenty about them going forward but I do think they have too many question marks about them at the back for me, they conceded 3 at against Latvia in a 3-3 World cup qualifier at home in March of this year and that is a major negative. They face an Italian side who I think are one of the team’s that can win this tournament, they have won their last 8 games all by at least 2 goals and while Italy failed to qualify for the last world cup, since they have very good and qualified with a 100% record. They are excellent going forward with talents such as Immobilie, Insigne and Beradi and have the players to dominate midfield in Verratti and Jorginho and with Juve pair Bonucci and captain Chiellini they are a formidable team and will give anybody a game of it at the championships. There will also be 23,000 home fans there tonight, it should be enough to give the Italians a nice boost and some proper home advantage and I can see Italy winning this by at least 1 goal and believe they are value to do so.
